A parent's guide to kids, robotics and AI
These are the questions parents ask us before they ask anything about our course. They are answered here the way we would answer them on the phone — including the parts that point away from enrolling, because advice that only ever resolves to “buy the course” is not advice.
What is an AI class for kids, and what happens in one?
An AI class for kids teaches children how artificial intelligence works by building with it rather than being told about it: training a model on their own examples, watching it fail, and working out why. A good one runs live, has the child make something in the first month, and pairs the AI with real electronics.

At what age should a child start learning AI?
Most children are ready to learn real artificial intelligence concepts from about age 9. That is when they can generally hold a variable in mind, follow cause and effect through several steps, and accept that a program does exactly what it was told rather than what was meant. Before 9, the useful groundwork is logic and building, not AI itself.

Should my child learn robotics or coding first?
For most children under about 12, robotics first works better. A robot gives immediate physical feedback — the wheel turns or it does not — which keeps a beginner going through the part where nothing works. Pure coding suits children already comfortable with abstract results on a screen. Either way, robotics includes coding, so nothing is lost.

How do I choose a kids' robotics or AI class in Sri Lanka?
Ask seven things before paying: who actually teaches the sessions and what they qualified in; whether classes are live or recorded; what the child builds in month one; total cost including any kit; class size; what happens when a project fails; and whether there is a free or refundable first session. A programme confident in its teaching answers all seven plainly.

What does a child actually learn in an AI class?
In a good AI class a child aged 9–14 learns that a model is trained rather than programmed, that its training data decides what it can recognise, that confident answers can still be wrong, and how to build something small that senses, decides and acts. They do not learn the mathematics, and at this age should not.
